Support Types

There are various names for the same supports we provide at All About Caring. Some words that maybe familiar or that you may see in your plan include:

  • Attendant Care
  • Assistance with daily personal activities
  • Assistance in coordinating or managing life stages, transitions and supports
  • Assistance with travel/transport arrangements
  • Community nursing care
  • Assistance with daily life tasks in a group or shared living arrangement
  • Development of daily living and life skills
  • Group and centre-based activities
  • Household tasks
  • Participation in community, social and civic activities
  • High intensity daily personal activities

Support Explained

All About Caring supports are also defined and named as follows:

Personal Assistance

Includes assistance with personal care activities such as feeding, drinking, toileting, personal hygiene, grooming and dressing and personal administration such as personal correspondence.

Community Assistance

Includes social and vocational activities and facilitation of community access through transport and mobility.

Educational Support

Includes those services required to allow someone to enter and remain at school or other educational facility.

Respite Care

Provides respite for either a person or their family/carer (to provide a break) and can be provided for the person at home or in a separate location

Palliative Care

Provides care and assistance in the last stages of life.

Domestic Services

Includes cooking, cleaning, shopping and similar tasks involved in the everyday operation and maintenance of a household.

Home Nursing

Includes those direct care tasks requiring specialised skills, training or experience of a Registered Nurse.

Child Care Services

Involves supervising and attending to the needs of children for the purpose of ensuring their welfare in the absence of a parent, guardian or other suitable carer.

Vocational Support

Include those services required to assist the person to maintain employment.

Social Support

Assists the person to participate in social activities in the community.

Therapy Program Support

Involves implementing therapeutic programs.
